Happy Father's Day to all of you Fathers, Grand Fathers and Great Grand Fathers out there!

What a great week this has been. I have had the opportunity to get some organization done in the yard, garden, studio and woodshop. While it doesn't exactly seem like creative work, it does help me in the creative process. I am trying to get to a more minimalist approach. For me, that means throwing out a bunch of things, cleaning and getting better systems in place.

What I would like to focus on today though is learning. Richard Feynman, a Nobel laureate and one of the most influential physicists of the 20th century, possessed exceptional skill in explaining intricate scientific principles in simple terms. His ability to break down complex ideas made him an exceptional teacher and communicator. Feynman's approach to learning involved a continuous cycle of studying, explaining, and identifying knowledge gaps. He believed that if he couldn't explain a concept clearly, he didn't truly understand it. This philosophy formed the foundation of what is now known as the Feynman Technique. As an art educator I love this technique for developing an understanding of a concept. It is a great technique that will assist us in the quest for life-long learning.
